Forever busy...
a bee at work

As a little boy, Johan was a menace! Oh, he was quiet all right, because most of the time he has been busy… Building a tent in the middle of the staircase, clearing bookshelves to turn them into an apartment for his action figures, or on a silent quest to find the things he needed, "things that were not there for such purpose!"(His mother's point of view).

At the age of 12 he learned a few skills from his mother, starting with stitching, drawing patterns, and so on. She also provided him with loads of books and info about the world of creativity. But most important of all she showed him the way of learning things, just by watching others and trying by himself.

Grown up in Aalst, in between Brussels and Ghent, carnival became a part of his life. This yearly parade is known to be one of the biggest and most beautiful in Europe, where each year approximately 1.000.000 Euro is spent on new parade cars and costumes. Artisan skills as welding, spray painting, sculpting and so on became his second skin. A few years later, joining the life action role-play games (LARP) he started making costumes and accessories, which he needed to play.

In 1999, with the experience of more than 10 years, he was invited by his stepfather to start their own business. Together with Johan's wife the three of them created C.A.M Projects who is since than at your service.
Raised in one of Flanders littlest and most picturesque village, Wouter had a happy and carefree youth and childhood. All day long, he, amongst his age-mates, always played outdoors. Nature provided unlimited space to play around, building camps or bridges across the small brook…

Sticks and stones served as perfect tools for the making of all "boy necessities". Soon he became a boy scout, from where he got his adventurous and social traits of character. Due to this, he easily engaged himself in the local youth-center, to help organise several events.

"One of his childhood dreams was, to become a building contractor, so he could repair the rickety road to their village." His grandfather, a fine carpenter and cabinet-maker, and his father, an excellent DIY, appeared to be great examples of craftsman-ship, creativity and perseverance.

Although the R. Steiner School and the Academy of Arts, evoked his artistic spirit, he chose to skill himself as a housepainter. His adventurous 'Boy Scout skills' made him an experienced 'scaff', starting his career in the events services.

Since November 2002, Wouter, fully skilled, joined C.A.M. Projects, to enlarge the company's range of services. The more we can offer, the better we can serve.
